001 / A little big idea
Moti
A virtual pet that brings a little life to your desktop and needs your care.
I spend a lot of time at my computer, and sometimes it feels lonely. That's where the idea of a little companion who stays by your side began.
I wanted company.
A whole world followed.
Moti started with a simple feeling: when you work at a computer for hours, you sometimes miss having a living presence nearby. So a little cat moved onto the desktop — one that notices you and responds to your attention.
A little digital companion
Moti is more than decoration or a looping animation. She has moods, memories, habits, and her own response to how you treat her.
Drawing a cat was just the start
Behind the emotions came needs, care, and persistence. It wasn't just about how Moti looked now, but what she would remember after a restart.
Recognising you, not just replying
I explore how care changes trust, how facts about a person are stored, and how personality shapes behaviour. A small reaction reflects a state that develops over time.
“Kris, I am your creator” isn't a name
Once, Moti saved an entire introduction as a name. I documented the steps and expected result. After the fix, I retested: the name and the creator fact were stored separately.

The project grew to include a planner, reminders, and sync. Creating a task is not enough: it must persist, have the right due time, and actually deliver a reminder. These connections became QA case studies.
Follow the user journey ↗Not perfect. But real.
Moti is still in development. I build the Swift app, test its behaviour, and separate working scenarios from what still needs verification. The published reports include passing checks and limitations around AI, the interface, and sync.
